Voluntary & Paid Opportunities Locally

Vacancy For A Volunteer Editor For the Arnside Directory
The Arnside Broadsheet Committee are looking for a volunteer Editor for the annual Arnside Directory. The Directory is a 56 page A5 full-colour publication with contact details and information on local clubs, groups, societies etc as well as adverts for local businesses, which is delivered to every household in Arnside and Carr Bank, as well as other outlets further afield.
It is compiled in conjunction with the Broadsheet Committee, with details agreed with the Committee in advance of production.
What’s required:
* Good computer skills
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Access to and ideally experience of, appropriate software to edit the publication (currently done in Publisher, which is part of Microsoft Office, but any appropriate software can be used).  Experience of creating media (newsletters, booklets etc) would be useful but not essential.
* Good inter-personal skills.

The Committee is there to support the Editor but they must also be able to work on their own and create and meet deadlines. Some aspects of the work could be shared by more than one person.

* The ability to create and amend adverts (currently in the form of jpg or png files) and the appropriate software to do this. (This could be done by another person).
