Local Information

Public Toilets are situated on the Lower Promenade. Cost: 20p with Wheelchair Access and Parent & Baby facilities.
A Children’s Play Area and the Memorial Playing Fields can be found on Silverdale Road, just past the Nisa shop.

Parking is free in Arnside but time limited on the Promenade between the Albion and Gallery H. The car parking area near the viaduct (opposite the Chip Shop) is prone to flooding at high tide so please be aware and check the tide timetable (available at local shops or on the internet at www.tidetimes.org.uk/arnside-tide-times )

Bus service: to Kendal, Kirkby Lonsdale and Morecambe (see below). Buses leave the Promenade at 9.30am. Return @1.15pm but please check with the driver. Timetables available at individual bus stops.

  • Kendal – Monday, Wednesday and Friday
  • Morecambe – Tuesday
  • Kirkby Lonsdale – Thursday

Trains run regularly to Lancaster / Preston, Grange-over-Sands / Barrow-in-Furness with connections to Manchester Airport and London from Lancaster / Preston. Please note face masks are a requirement of travel due to Coronavirus guidelines and restrictions.

Aluminium Recycling for Guide Dogs for the Blind at Arnside Chip Shop Please bring your washed aluminium (milk bottle tops, kitchen foil, fast food containers, drink cans etc) and place in the ‘Guide Dogs’ green collection bin.
