General Information for Arnside

Recycling Facilities:  

Collection point for Cardboard, Paper, Glass, Plastic, Clothes & Shoes   -  in the layby just past the railway crossing on Black Dyke Road.

Aluminium Recycling for Guide Dogs for the Blind at Arnside Chip Shop 
Please bring your washed aluminium (milk bottle tops, kitchen foil, fast food containers, drink cans etc) and place in the 'Guide Dogs' green collection bin.
Public Toilets -  are situated on the Lower Promenade. Cost: 20p with Wheelchair Access and Parent & Baby facilities. 

A Children's Play Area and the Memorial Playing Fields can be found on Silverdale Road, just past Arnside Village Stores. 

Parking is free in Arnside but time limited on the Promenade between the Albion and Gallery H. 
The car parking area near the viaduct (opposite the Chip Shop) is prone to flooding at high tide so please be aware and check the tide timetable (available at local shops or on the internet at ) 

Bus service to Milnthorpe and Kendal - see timetables at individual bus stops or visit:

Trains run regularly to Lancaster / Preston, Grange-over-Sands / Barrow-in-Furness with connections to Manchester Airport and London from Lancaster / Preston. Some timetables available on the station platform or visit:

A council meeting is held on the 2nd Monday of each month.
The Cemetery Chapel is available to hire as a multi-purpose community room with car parking and facilities for people with disabilities.
Arnside Parish Plan Trust
An independent organisation which compiles, publishes and revises the Arnside Parish Plan (revision carried out every 5 years).
The main aim is to create, in co-operation with the other parishes, a local plan for the AONB.
The Trust relies on grants and donations as its only source of funds.
